Here at Teignmouth Golf Club we take great pride in the development of every single junior, from their golf skills through to their behaviour & etiquette.

 

At our junior academy programme we offer an innovative, fun and exciting approach to golf coaching for all. We aim to create an environment promotive of education, friendships and fun.

 

We offer a comprehensive junior academy programme for children between 4 – 17 years that is of any ability and can be tailored specifically to each child allowing them to learn at their own pace.

 

All sessions will follow strict Golf health and safety guidelines and Safe Golf policies to ensure a fun and safe learning environment.

Step 1 – Junior Get Into Golf

 

The junior get into golf club is the first stepping stone for new players. It consists of group-based coaching led by one of our own PGA professional golf coaches and is designed to encourage children to learn fundamental movement skills within golf, build a better understanding of the game of golf and develop friendships.

 

 

The junior get into golf club is run on Saturday mornings on the various practice areas with 3 separate groups that are each an hour long.

 

Group 1 – 9.00am – 10.00am
Group 2 – 10.00am – 11.00am
Group 3 – 11.00am – 12.00pm

 

• Sessions are split into 5-week programmes at £30 per child for the 5 weeks
• Up to 10 juniors per group
• Junior parents WhatsApp/email group for communication on all lessons
• Runs all year round
• Equipment can be provided if needed

 

£35 for the full 5-week programme.

Step 2 – Junior Academy Club

 

Once a junior has completed a 5 week Get into golf club they will have the option to enrol into the academy club.

 

The junior academy club is more specific to each junior, with one to one coaching and smaller group sessions taking the child’s golf skills and understanding on the game of golf to the next level. This will include coaching on and off course.

 

• Each subscription includes 1 or 2 x 25minute golf lessons per month or 1 or 2 x 50 minute minute sessions per month with one of our PGA   professional golf coaches.
• Programme will be structured and tailored to suit the individuals needs and requirements.
• Programmes will run over a 3, 6, 9 or 12 month period depending on the child’s and parents needs/preferences.
• On course coaching in small groups can be arranged with other juniors that are part of the Academy.

Step 3 – Junior On Course Club

 

The on-course club will run alongside the junior get into golf club and junior academy club. A child will be able to join the on-course clubs once approved by one of our PGA professional golf coaches. The on-course clubs are designed to allow playing opportunities on the golf course for juniors at each level.

 

Monday On Course – For Supervised Junior members

 

The Monday on course club will include:

 

• Tee times between 4.00pm – 4.45pm reserved for junior on course club.
• Juniors are supervised by a club volunteer.
• All juniors must sign in with the pro shop before heading out to play and to select their food for afterwards.
• Tee times to be booked through and allocated by the PGA professional shop.
• All players will play as many holes as they can up to 6.00pm.
• From 6.00pm – 6.30pm juniors will head back to the clubhouse where they will have food.
• Runs every Monday from beginning May – October.

Junior Sunday on The Course Club

 

 

Sunday On Course – Unsupervised Junior members and invited supervised juniors.

For all Juniors that are part of the junior academy club, once approved by one of our PGA professional golf coaches they will then be eligible to take part in the Sunday on course club.

 

The Sunday on course club will include:

• Tee off from 3pm on Sunday afternoons
• Tee times booked through professional shop. Each group will complete 9 holes
• Runs throughout the whole year
• Access to handicap record through the England Golf app
